At least I think it's a 241.
What I need is the brown phenolic crystal holder that goes on the front of a
Globe Chief. The one that holds the large crystals we used as Novices back
in the late 50's and early 60's. I'm setting up my old Novice station and
the crystal holder has a large piece broken off. It still works though.
Maybe one will turn up at the Midland Swap in a couple of weeks. (June 18th
at the Midland County fairgrounds) Of course I keep hoping a Museum grade
SX115, HT32B and HT33B will be there for a few hundred dollars each too.
(sigh) At least I still have my imagination left. OK, so I'd settle for a
mint Johnson Thunderbolt with new Eimac 4-400s.
I've reorganized my shop and put in a desk, although I have to admit the big
computer monitor and wireless keyboard look out of place next to the HT-32,
HT-33B and SX-101 (and HA-1 Keyer)
I'm going to have to move the welding bench though. It's just too close to
the back of my office chair at the ham station and I'd hate to have some
"splatter" get on it or the rig. OTOH I do all the cutting, grinding, and
welding at the other end of the bench. With the tail of the airplane I'm
building (fiberglass and resin) right next to the other end of the bench I
haven't much welding ove there either
I'm trying to decide which is going to take the most work to finish. The
HT-32, or HT-32B. Both are just about "air worthy" and both "almost" work.
It looks like some one may have spilled some coffee on the front panel of
the 32B, but I have the stain almost removed from that black crinkle finish
of the bezel. The 101 only needs a touch up on the alignment as it works
fairly well. The HT-33B is ready to go back in the cabinet as soon as I get
the cabinet finished. I need to go back to work so I can afford to purchase
*stuff* that is in better shape.
