[Hallicrafters] varicap info needed

I wonder if someone out there has some diode catalogues from the 60s. I am 
trying to identify a varicap designated in a 1960s era schematic simply as 
"V15E".

I note that the NTE catalogue shows interchanges with a whole bunch of diodes 
starting with V and going all the way up to about 100 but 15 is skipped.  I 
suspect the V designation was a manufacturer  of diodes back then. 

If anyone has any info on V15E, it would probably be best to contact me off 
the net.
