Hello to all . a while back my sx 42 popped and then i saw smoke ( a very
valuable lesson learned no matter how clean and mint a radio is the paper caps
are not } . well after a lot of searching i have found the culprit . i am in
the process of replacing all the caps and i hope this solves the problem
along with the burnt resistor . i am a novice at this but after careful
study of the schematic i have traced it to resistor[ #45 on the parts list]
which is a 330 ohm
if some one could verify this for me it would be of great help .
on the 7h7 1st limiter pins 2 and 3 there are 2 resistors pin 2 has a 33k
[R#55] . pin 3 has a 100k[R#54]
coming off of them . these join together at a junction then the 330ohm
resistor connects to them then connects to another junction post where a wire goes
to switch #1AA.
i have a sx 42 parts rig and when i looked at it the circitry was different
which is confusing me a little but it has had mods done to it though . my sx
42 is untouched .
thanks for your replies and help .
steve
