Hello,
I have another question that I hope someone can help me with. I'm finishing up an SX-111. While lubeing the gear train. I inadvertently got a little bit of oil in the friction pulley that turns the large black plastic dial that connects to the gears on the main tuning cap. It now has some slipping. I dripped in denatured alchol with a Q-tip and put a corner of an index card in the groove to clean out the oil. I did this many times (turning the knob), removing lots of gunk on the index card.
My question, will tightening the nut on the shaft, increase the resistance in the friction pulley? Is it adjustable or made with the size of opening locked in? Any ideas? It works, but has a little bit of slipping.
Thank you in advance for all of your information.
Thanks & 73's
