Dial cord hint #1: when restringing dial cords in large, densely 
populated communications receivers, employ the skills of leprechauns, 
elves or fairies to reach into the bowels of the radio.

Dial cord hint #2: If the above-mentioned talents are not available, 
position the main tuning capacitor to a station or frequency you favor, 
carefully align the receiver to that frequency, and learn to enjoy 
optimum listening to that source, e.g., WWV at 10 MHz -- if nothing 
else, you'll always know what time it is.
