Gentlemen, (which excludes you, Frogzilla!(

On this list: As long as you do not post an ad for or a link to an item you are
selling on EBAY, do not post an ad for or a link to an item somebody you know is
selling on EBAY, do not post an ad for or a link to an item a friend of a friend
you may or may not know is selling on EBAY, do not post a message on this list
telling readers about this item for sale on EBAY they may want to go check out
and/or bid on by providing everything but the actual link or otherwise overtly
or covertly post suggestive messages on this list directing readers to EBAY for
reasons that involve personal financial gain either by direct or indirect means,
then we will not have a problem with EBAY posts.

Well at least not until one of you comes up with some creative twist on the old
shell and pea game anyhow! (LOL!)

Now if you want to chew the edges off a post about what Mr. Zincoatedsteal paid
for a Hallicrafters SX-88BC Mark 5 or what you think the sum total of his entire
family tree mean intelligence quotient is because of what he paid for said item,
go right ahead and chew away until you wear your teeth right down to the gums!

Try to remember this, however. EBAY is all about profit and you get absolutely
nothing there for free. The QTH.NET/QSL.NET mail lists and web sites are not for
profit. Rather, they are for the exclusive use and enjoyment of all radio
hobbyists no matter what facet of radio they are drawn to. It is about Ham
Radio, Short-Wave listening, radio restoration, vintage vacuum tube stereo gear,
DX'ing various bands from long wave to medium wave to frequency modulation to
six meter amplitude modulation, or satellite coms with Amateur Radio,
non-directional beacon listening, antenna design and construction and problem
solving, modern multi-band receivers, military coms and hundreds more. They are
owned by Alan Waller, K3TKJ and are provided to all of you without a
subscription charge or mandatory fee. He does ask each of you to make an annual
donation to help him pay the operating costs, as he uses five T1 lines to handle
all the traffic generated by over 550 topical lists and eighty thousand web
sites. He is retired and can use all of the financial support each of us can
send along to help keep the hard drives spinning 24/7/365.26 The benefits each
of us get from a list almost always is many times that of a twenty dollar annual
donation. Al does not use commercial sponsors, as this is a hobby and for radio
hobbyists! When commercial sponsors arrive, individual rights seem to vanish. Is
this what an "ether net' does? (grin)

As those of you who have been around since the dawn of time know, (well at least
the dawn of the time when QTH.NET/QSL.NET was born!), Al's hobby was just a
little baby. He had absolutely no wild 'way too much caffeine' inspired vision
what this youngster would grow into! If he had had such a premonition he may
well have adopted his creation out to a Tibetan boarding school for servers,
erased all memory tracks leading back to his Ham Shack from the hard drive and
RAM and gone into hiding! For when junior grew up, and wanted to eat, Al got
utility bills with a smiley face on either side of the $ sign where it said
"total due"!

QTH.NET/QSL.NET has grown into probably the finest, certainly the most
comprehensive, radio hobbyists resource to be found on this planet. So help Al
Waller, K3TKJ keep it operating by sending him whatever you can afford. Every
dollar counts. If every subscriber on the system sent Al a half dollar each
year, we would all be assured that this incredible service too many of us take
for granted, would be alive and well for years to come. If you would like to
help, use the information below. Thanks to one and all for subscribing and
contributing to the QTH.NET/QSL.NET list and web sites! Thanks to Alan Waller,
K3TKJ for sharing his hobby with all of those involved in the wonderful hobby of
radio.

I have heard this complaint so many times, I just have to ask:
Why should I or anyone else not comment on price if it is important enough
for the seller to mention when he puts it up for sale??
