I agree with you, its because the amount is more than most people can
afford, But let me tell you, the SX-88 is really sought after, and they
didn't make to many of them, and especially nice ones are getting very hard
to just find, everybody I believe that are true Hallicrafters Collectors,
would love to own one, but most can't afford one, and or isn't going to
spend that much on one, so they will never know what its like to have one,
there are alot of Receivers out there that I would love to own, but can't
afford, so what I do is, buy old ones, and try and fix them and sell them
for a small profit, and take the profit and every once in awhile, I do the
crazy and buy myself a really nice Receiver and pay the big bucks for it,
and then I get to see what its like to own a really nice piece of History,
that didn't cost me much more than my time in repair and saving the bucks,
