If you have the money, and want one badly enough, why not?

Why is price an issue?  I know, I know, you got YOURS at a yard sale for 10
bucks, or told some hams's widow that "that old CB set isn't worth more than
$5".  Whatever.

I will never understand why what someone might ask or what someone else
might or might not pay for an item at a fest, advertised on a list, or at
some other on-line venue immediately becomes a matter of ridicule.  Perhaps
it's just disappointment that you can't handle the heat?
