 How far does the sensitivity drop? It may
or may not be an alignment problem.
 If it is alignment, I would think it would
be limited to the front end and/or mixer.
 But I would first try testing or subbing the
oscillator tube, RF amp, the mixer and
checking the oscillator injection levels
at the higher frequencies. I've got two SX-101A's
and they are pretty much straight forward with
a few cautions: don't touch the soldered trimmers,
99% of the time its not needed. Don't play with the
crystal activity adjustments for the same reason. And
the BFO adjustment can be confusing, if the BFO is set
wrong, bye bye to sideband suppression.
