If the HCI Saturday and Sunday Nets are to continue, then the NCS needs to find
some new owners for some equipment. Simply put, I have to pay for medications
not covered by my insurance provider. I need to sell the vintage stereo audio
gear (write me for a detailed list) and if that does not sell, I will have to
sell the Icom 756 transceiver used for the Nets. Hopefully the audio gear sells,
problem is solved and the Nets continue. help if you can.
The Saturday January 29th HCI 40 meter Net will be held despite temperatures
cold enough to make ice cubes wear bun warmers! Ever see an ice cube wearing a
snowmobile suit, helmet and Cowboy Bob manure kickin' boots? If you do, get a
digital photo, as nobody will believe you!
Join us for the HCI pre-Net which will commence at 12:30 PM EST, (1730 UTC). If
I can get the gerbils to stop speaking Espanol and taking morning and afternoon
siestas, with a short nap in between, I may be able to get the little treadmill
turning, the gearbox reduction unit spinning, the generator generating and the
watts up the antenna and out into the frosty air. If not, I may actually have to
resort to using wall current provided by the twin nuclear reactors in Midland,
MI that seem to be making a lot of people, places and things glow in the dark!
The good news is, if those people are ever unemployed they can always rent
themselves out as portable nightlights!
The Net proper will begin at 1:00 PM EST, (1800 UTC). The frequency will be
7.280 MHZ lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and hopefully no interference
from the AFC based bunch in FL and the various others in surrounding states.
They have agreed to start their Net at 3:00 PM EST, (2000 UTC), we shall see.
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, so be there or be left out of the fun,
facts, infamous Ham Fest buying fibs, fabulous how to fix suggestions and a
whole lot more. Hear you then!
