Hi Gang,
I'm almost ready to bring an SR-2000 "Hurricane" to life. This transceiver has been been in the box for the last 30 years so I plan to bring her to life sloooowly, but I have some questions for those with experience. The P-2000 has been completely rebuilt with new components and it doesn't need to be formed, just the transceiver.
Here are my questions
1. Should I provide the 12vac filament and control voltage from an external source (I have a nice 12vac filament transformer that I could use) and then slowly over a couple of days just bring up the B+ and Bias voltages, or should I bring them all up slowly together?
2. How much total time are we talking about to safely bring the radio to life?
3. What is the recommended voltage for initial power up?
4. Is there a recommended volts per time unit that is a rule of thumb?
5. Any other pertanant information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks es 73's
