[Hallicrafters] R-42 Reproducer questions

Craig,
The voice coil appears to be a 3.2 ohm one. Inside the enclosure is
a 600 ohm to 3.2 ohm transformer, and a capacitor that is switched from
communications to Hi-Fi.
I don't believe you could call the cabinet "sealed", but the back is
screwed on. There is a "bass reflex" port on the bottom front, since
there is inadequate room in the cabinet to allow for the complete
displacement of air from the cone movement. The interior is lined with
"tarred felt".
I happen to have two of them. One is completely original, the
second one has been repainted wholly improperly, to include covering the
markings on the front face.
