I can empathize, Mike.  My Dad was also a WW II vet and agreed 
wholeheartedly with General Patton's desire to "keep marching all the 
way to Moscow." 

I didn't learn of this particular historical sentiment until the first 
dun-colored envelope arrived from "Mockba".  Subsequent QSL mailings 
from the Soviet bloc (such as Radio Prague, etc.) were passed along to 
me clandestinely by my mother (her hatred of Reds was apparently 
overshadowed slightly by sympathy for her only son).  I then buried 
these questionable documents in my room even more deeply than I did the 
forbidden and well worn copy of  Playboy magazine that had been passed 
along to me by my buddy down the street (who also became a ham -- hmmm).

Gee, Mike, maybe my Dad turned me in to Naval Intelligence.
