Don't need to be careless.  A while back I running my DX-100B on 10M AM and
when I flipped the plate switch to ON -- "Boom" !!   Sky high mod current;
I figured it was the meter shunt resistor, and sure enough, it had a nice
big black circle around it complete with a missing chunk.  Replaced it, and
"Boom" again.   Hmmmm.  Finally found that I had a VERY leaky 1625 modulator
tube, which had tested just fine the previous month!.   You never know
what'll happen when you turn on a toober, eh ?
