Yes, true.  And it does work if used at the feedpoint. It=92s a current =
balun.
But I also stand corrected, as I reread the article and G5RV recommended =
8
to 10 turns in a 6 inch diameter.  I'm not an expert, but G5RV was, and =
so
is W7EL.  They explain it very simply in layman's terms in The ARRL =
Antenna
Compendium Volume 1, in:
"The G5RV Multiband Antenna ... Up-to-Date", Louis Varney G5RV, Page 86, =
and
"Baluns: What They Do and How They Do It", Roy Lewallen, Page 157.
