[Hallicrafters] 20 Meter Net Tonight

Duane and The Hallicrafters Group,

I did not intend to throw a dirty bomb into the neighborhood as it is not my
style and I am not and never did accuse anyone of anything.  Duane, I
understand your disappointment with my comments however.

1  Yes my dipole (it is very high) is probably somewhat directional and is
probably a part of the problem working Duane.

2  Duane did try various antennas to reach me, each one worse than the
other.

3  I heard the other (2) stations, California and Florida very well but I
did not hear them call me.  Perhaps propagation dropped out.

4  I am not faulting anyone for the way the net is or was run.

I did not try 40 since I had S9+20db international broadcast on both
frequencies so I waited for the 20 meter net.  I checked into the pre-net
shortly before 7:00pm on 20 meters.  I immediately contacted Duane with
fairly poor signals.  This seems to be normal propagation between Duane and
me.  By 8:00pm, disgusted, I turned the radios off since the discussion
continued to be between Duane and the other 2 stations about 2 meter AM
work.

I was not aware that my posting which was not 100% pro net would present
such a problem.  Obviously it did.  For that I am sorry.  I am still a pro
Hallicrafters person and will remain so.

One of my instructors in college once told me, never speak, write or send
email when you are angry.  I violated that good advice.  I and others need
to remember, this is just a hobby.
