[Hallicrafters] Guilt Feelings

I think we might have all done this sort of thing as teenagers.
This was not helped by radio/electronics magazines in the business of
advertising new transistor based gear, putting down all things tube based.
I completely stripped a low frequency high power Bendix transmitter from a
Liberator bomber to build something else in the chassis, these transmitters
are far and few between nowadays. I built a replica "Baird" mechanical
scanning TV camera in the chassis.
I also pulled apart one of my working BC611 Walkie Talkies and somewhere in
the process of moving addresses lost the microphone and mouthpiece, for
which I've never been able to find replacements.
So you are not Robinson Crusoe on this one!
