Hi Craig,
Thanks for your paint recommendations. But I'm a bit surprized at
your "titanium hue" for the cabinet top, I've always thought it was more
suppressed.
I've had the folloing as recommentdations before, for the top:
"for hallicrafters cabinet tops, SX-101/HT-32/SX-71, etc,
Plasticote #1542 Burnished Silver
Duplicolor # T229W Silver M
both are "truck & van" paint."
I have used the T229W on several tops and have been very happy, and
have goten good comments from other "viewers."
I have done 2 SX-42's with cabinet paint from Mike S. in the past, and
it was good.But now that our past supplier here in NC has apparently
drifted off to oblivion, I'll look closely at the Cast Coat Iron for the
early cabinets in the future.
( I wonder if fairly high baking temps are recommended for these
engine paints?)
