[Hallicrafters] Chrome plating

This may be a tad "off-subject" but does anyone have a source for chrome 
plating small items?  I have a couple things I would like to chrome plate 
(small light fixtures), but every facility I've called in the Washington DC 
area is either way too expensive  (typically they want way over a hundred 
bucks) or, due to environmental regs, can't do chrome plating anymore. 
Apparently, there are some really nasty chemicals required that are 
considered environmental pollutants, so their use is highly regulated.
