[Hallicrafters] HT-44/SX-117 - Clean em' up!

Cream of Tartar (Silver polish paste) and a tooth brush is the best and most
cost effective way to take the black out of those nasty looking rf
connectors. Liquid silver cleaners work well too but need an alcohol rinse
to remove all residue otherwise the connector will stick in it's mate.
Radio metal corrosion/ oxidation is very random in it's electrical effects
on the radio. I have a Drake TR-3 with completely corroded chassis and it
still works ok. On the other hand, stuff that looks good to the eye won't
pass electricity unless it gets a cleaning and electrical check.
Keeps me on my toes.
