After receiving a couple of sets of headphones in the mail, I decided to try "Mothers aluminum & Mag polish, and it worked great. It not only shined up the metal on the earpieces, but the "plastic" as well. They now look like new. Any suggestions for cleaning scale & dirt from metal Chassis?

Mother's is good stuff. After a good washing of the chassis try
NeverDull, works pretty well. Just get all of the loose crud off
first. Once it's clean, use the NeverDull rag.

>From my previous Novus experiences and observations:

Novus #1 - seems to be a lot like ArmorAll or other liquid products
used to finish off a polished item by filling tiny crevices.

Novus #2 - seems to be a lot like Brasso polish, used by many to
polish bakelite knobs and similar for years. Looks and smells the same
as Brasso.

Novus #3 - coarsest of all, like an aggressive car wax or cutting
compound. Maybe someone else can put a comparable product name to it?

The point of this all is that any of the Novus products have existed
under other names for years, just not in a special 'set'. You can get
the same results from these other products without having to look
around or wait for those little plastic bottles to be shipped to you.
And in larger quantities for less money. Even gritty toothpaste works
well for removing small/light scratches.
ArmorAll is nasty stuff if you ever want to touch up a painted
surface. Plan on a complete stripping first. I'd never suggest this
stuff for anything other than shining up your car seats or sidewalls.
