[Hallicrafters] S40 question

Back when I was in college (the first time) and about to become a new ham, I 
picked up a nice S40-B complete with Heathkit Q-multiplier.  It also had a 
doorknob tube in the RF amp.  It worked well on all bands *except* 10 meters 
where it was pretty much deaf.

I worked a lot of CW stations using that old receiver.
Unfortunately I also was threatened with receiving the "worked all stereos" 
in the dorm award.
