Bought my Ocean Hopper Regen receiver kit from Allied in 1956 .... it was
$10.60 I think .....
Wish I still had it .. one sold on eBay for almost $300.00 !!!!
Used it with a single tube 50L6 crystal controlled transmitter ... the
Mighty 4 Watter from April 1956 CQ magazine ..
We got on 40 CW with this set up from Ft. Mead MD in 1956 -57 when we were
stationed there in an antiaircraft operations center......
Recently built another Mighty 4 Watter .... even worked across the pond
with it ...
