[Hallicrafters] Help Identifying Unknown Part

I have posted a photo to alt.binaries.pictures.radio
The part is in my RCA Senior Voltohmyst VTVM. It is in series with the 
positive lead of the filter capacitor and the power transformer. It shows 
infinite resistance. Your help would be appreciated.
