[Hallicrafters] Print / "point" size

Thanks to all the replies about font size but I have another question.
Following the advice given, I printed a page using MSword and found the
letter "h" in Hallicrafters that is written across the front of and S-38E,
is font size 22. That is for the "h". However, the other letters are much
smaller, down to a font size of 12 or 13.

Does this mean that the font size would be unique for each individual
letter? Seems that way to me.

An easy way to get an idea as to what "point" size the
lettering is will to be to use a word processing
program like Microsoft Word.

You are probably familar with the fact that you can
change not only the type style but the type size. In
Word the type size is in "point" format.

Just find a type font that is similar to what the
lettering is that you want to duplicate. Next choose
the type size that is the lowest possible Then do a
line in Word for the alaphabet (both upper and lower
case) and numbers. Then do a couple of "carriage
returns) (hit the "enter" key a couple of times).

Copy the line and while it is still highlighted go to
the next "point" size. Repeat this until you have a
good number of lines of various point sizes. Finally,
print the page and you will have something to compare
with the existing lettering.

If you want to get "fancy", you can type in the point
size after a couple of spaces in each line. That way
you can retain the "hard copy" for future reference.
of course I would also "save" the file so that I
wouldn't have to do it again. If other fonts are used
on equipment and you want to again "match" the font as
close as possible, just do a "select all" in the
"edit" portion of Word and then "click" on the new
font. Everything will come out with the new font but
the "point" sizes will remain what they were.
