The funniest one I have ever heard was in 1963 on a flight on Japan 
Airlines, where the Japanese steward went thru the pre-take off spiel, 
winding up with,  "And we do hope you enjoy your fright on Japan 
Airlines'".  After a couple of seconds the English speaking passengers 
roared with laughter, and the steward looked perplexed.  I expect 
someone explained it to him later .DB
