Well Craig,  I ran Hallicrafters and B&W stuff during my early days in ham
radio.  I guess for me, Hallicrafters and B&W gear is like peanuts (and
movie stars according to Burgess Meredith in "In Harms Way").... they're
addictive !!

I'll tell you one reason I like tube gear in general -- sit me down in front
of just about any BA radio, and odds are I can make it play.   Now, sit me
down in front of the latest Yaewoodcom TS-4000000SDX++ and I'll need to
study the manual just to figure out how to change frequency!!
