After numerous dicussions from the group I resprayed the cloth on ny R-46B
using a proprietry automotive spray dye called "VHT Penetrating Color Dye"
for vinyl and carpet.
It looks OK, I'm not sure about the reflocking either. I'm not sure whether
flocking would have been quick in mass production of radios.
