Tony,

If you are operating, when and where? Most of us have not heard you in years.
The last time I heard you it was from a small boat on the lake at the marina
where you work! I never did figure out what the heck you were using for an
antenna, the anchor? (LOL) We need the digital rigs Tony, we use the 'search'
function to try and find where you are hiding out! Come up for air and join us -

AMEN
i have said this and proved it to myself over and over for 45+ years. i
have owned or used about every sand state rig that has come along. they may
give you a higher s meter reading then one of my old tube rigs but i can
still copy. who cares what the s meter says. if you want a true reading put
a r.f. amp meter in your line and look at the microvolt sig level coming in.

right now i have two ts 950sdx's two ts 850sat's two ts 870dsp units' a
mark v field hooked up. i use coax switches to switch all stations and
antennas around. also connected are an sx 111 sx 101a sx 115 s40b hq110a
sx100 sx 99 and a hq 140x. i even have a old s 38 that i can put in line.
what i hear on the sand state i can hear and work on the tube gear. what i
like about the tube gear is i can notch out and filter by hand where you
can not with a lot of the new dsp units. i do mostly cw now and ill take
any of my tube rigs over my 870 for filtering out qrm. and forget it if you
turn on the noise blanker.
73 Tony
