On the other hand, several years ago I called up a local big wheel BA'er because I heard he had a rare accessory that I was looking for (the 10 watt speech amplifier for the Desk KW).  He asked me what I would offer for it.  I told him.  He says No.  At this point my heart sank because I was hoping to find the accessory and not have to pay a bizillion dollars.  He went on to say "its not worth $XXX" (the amount I offered), and he gave me a price 1/3 less than my offer. I bought it at the lower amount he suggested. So isn't that a surprise.

On the other hand, a buddy of mine just told me a story of a recent attempt to buy a modulator or vfo.  The seller posted it on some list at one price, then when my buddy followed up to buy it, seller said he had to raise his price because one like it just sold on Ebay for $XX so he had to raise his price to $XX too.  My buddy declined to play that game :->

I'm just commenting on some ying/yang buying experiences.
