Remember that putting them in the AC line does not help your plate tranny if
your HV switch (such as in the DX-100B) applies and removes plate voltage.
You should still put another limiter in the plate circuit.

Actually, while limiters in the AC line won't hurt, I doubt they'll do
anything to save tube life.  The warm up time for the rectifiers is a lot
longer (5-7 seconds) than the delay of the thermister.  The benefit you
should see is that it'll go easier on the filter caps, as they see a dead
short on power on.
