The S-Meter on my SX-28 is nearly pinned to the right, just a flicker on the
strongest signals. The zero pot (R-29) had minimal effect. I checked the pot
with an ohm meter and found it was a dead short between terminals and
measured about 850 K ohm to ground. I looked for a suitable replacement, but no
luck so far. It looks like a 12-25 watt rheostat. Does anyone know the actual
value of the component? How much power does this thing have to dissipate? Could
I possibly get away with a smaller (2 watt?) pot, or does it really need to
be that hefty (closer to a rheostat)?
Thanks!
Jerry
