[Hallicrafters] off topic HRO-60 coils

Check to see if one of the trimmer capacitors is shorting. I had one
that was, the rotor was a single-bearing type so was gently bent back
into position. Also that pesky half-turn loop of wire in the coil
center used to adjust the inductance by bending it to add or buck the
inductance might break after too many pushes or pulls. I had one HRO-50
coil where one of the the metal-blade switches that selects bandspread
or regular coverage was missing.

I can't seem to raise more than one person on the National reflector.
Does anyone have any experience with HRO-50 60 coils? I have a "D" coil
that is dead. what can go wrong with these? Dan
