[Hallicrafters] Hallicrafters Paper Labels

Hello to all. Some of you may know I started a digital collection of
old paper

labels commonly found on or in Hallicrafters equipment. Some of you

have requested digital copies of these images and I have forwarded them

to those individuals. As time marches on, these labels on many pieces
of

old radios, speakers etc. are being lost to history.

I think the time has come, to begin a drive to save as many of these
labels

as possible. Therefore, I am asking any of you out there with
Hallicrafters

equipment with good or bad labels of any kind to preserve them. The
best

way to do this is to take a close up digital image of them. I use a
cheap digital

camera and a cheap tripod. I mount the camera on the tripod and take
the

label images from about 1-2 feet away. Check your camera for close up

settings.

The images come out very clear and are preserved for posterity and for

printing out later to renew the label. What is nice about this is even
the

yellowing of the label is preserved.

Labels are commonly found on the back apron of the chassis. Other
labels

such as warning tags, shipping tags, tube layouts in and around the

equipment should also be preserved. Some of the labels are difficult to
snap

but it would be worth the effort.

So, if you can take an image of these labels I would appreciate emailing
them to

me with a description so I can start a real library of Hallicrafters
labels which

otherwise in another 5-10 years may be gone forever. I would make this
library

of labels available to any one who may want it on CD if enough are
submitted to

warrant it.
