After pulling a SX-62A from the clutches of an outdoor flea market operator,
I've been frustrated at just getting the set apart for a much needed overhaul.
The cabinet seems to mate with the front of the radio OK, but apparently
corrosion has fused the area where the edges contact one another. I removed the
three screws that hold the chassis to the bottom rear of the cabinet, but
can't manage to pull the cabinet free. Have applied WD-40 and another product,
RIP 1 to try to penetrate the area's rusty edges. Nothing doing. Maybe I'm
just missing something here. I obtained a W7FG reproduction of the manual, but
it sheds no light on disassembly of the radio. I've tried gently tapping with a
rubber mallet around the edges of where the front and back of the cabinet
mate to no avail. Might a better penetrating oil work here?

I thought I might be able to remove the knobs so as to allow the front part
of the case to be pulled free, but some clever monkey rounded the Allen set
screws that hold each and every one of the knobs onto the shafts. Has anybody
every successfully gotten these types of knobs free with an easy-out, etc? Most
of the rest of the radio looks like it is worth a try at bringing it back to
life, so I hate to just give up on it.
