[Hallicrafters] S40 B alignment with limited equipment

How do you go about aligning an S40B, without a signal generator, but I have 
access to a DX440 receiver (digital readout from 150 kHz to 30 MHz with a 
BFO) and a frequency counter, and a digital multimeter. Plus, would the 
alignment tools from Radio Shack (for TV alignment) work. Thanks and thanks
