[Hallicrafters] Parted out Radios

I seem to remember back about 15 years ago a published list of "Parts"
radios . This was before the internet took over, so I don't think it's
still around, but the idea was, to send in a SASE and you'd receive a
printed list much like the old "Yellow Sheets", but strictly for boatanchor
parts sets. Was it thru Electric Radio Magazine or was it through Hollow
State News? Since I'm new to the Hallicrafters Reflector, this type of
listing may well exist, but if not, it certainly sounds like a great idea.
Sorry if my "new" idea is stale.
I tend to agree about not pulling apart a true classic boatanchor radio for
profit. Of course, I'm living in a glass house since I've butchered a few
TR-7's for that very reason, but hey, it's got those cold-hearted silicon
things in it instead of nice warm vacuum tubes! It would be truely a
dispicable work to hack up a perfectly good SX-101 etc.
That said, a friend of mine, Howard Mills needs the whole BFO assembly can
from a 75A-2 or 3. He can be contacted at w3hm at nfis.com. I know this isn't
Hallicrafters, but there just might be someone out there with a real parts
radio that will provide a transplant for him.
Thanks, Charlie k3ICH
