I'd suggest you try using the "Aluminum Black" solution on the scratch. This turns the bare metal black and often hides the scratch. I've used it for years.  I've seen this at Wal-Mart (in the sporting good's section).  It is used by Gunsmiths,Comes in a small blue plastic bottle.  Just use a Q-Tip on the metal. It should not affect the paint,but turn the bare metal black. Many sporting goods stores have this also.
