It could with today's higher AC line voltages and or with the use of SS 
rectifiers. Why not build a replacement with a 500 WVDC rating? Call DH 
Distributors in Wichita, KS. He custom makes can type electrolytics in whatever size and 
rating you need and they are perfect replacements for the original. He can 
make any size can and install any values and the cost for the four section caps 
he has made for me is usually around $10 or so. In addition the workmanship is 
a very high quality custom hand made item. I'm not affiliated in any way, just 
a satisfied customer passing along a tip.
