[Hallicrafters] SX-100 arrives

The 'S' meter should work in all modes , AVC on only . Sounds like yours is
stuck , or toast , or you might check the brittle wiring to the meter and
'zero set' with the back panel control. Tag the coax shield to the ground
jumpered antenna terminal and / or use a TV coax to 300 ohm balun . The
model indication is stamped on the notch filter subchassis , upper rear and
centered above the main chassis. I know you can't see it with the cabinet
on, try an inspection mirror.
