I agree with this.... they do NOT work well. I've got a set (there's two
sizes)
and have had little luck with them

OTOH, using conventional pliers parallel to the front surface doesnt work
well either, because as you pinch the pliers to get "traction", you're also
mashing the relatively flimsy nut tighter onto the control/switch shaft.

There's no easy way!
