Hi and thanks to all who replied. First of all let me clarify, I only
replaced the paper caps (black beautys and tiny chefs) several were bad
simply by visual inspection. I replaced the damp chaser, which is
definitely working, and turned the radio from its side to its bottom (normal
operating position). I allowed the radio to warm for a full hour. Results,
she drifts (back and forth, not up or down) in both upper and lower
sidebands but not nearly as bad as before. However, in the AM position
tuned to WWV, she just sat there, no discernable drift. Radio has been
playing now for several hours on WWV with no adjustment necessary. It
appears the bfo is drifting. Does this sound reasonable and has anyone
encountered this problem? Thanks again for your input guys, I do appreciate
your assistance!
