a very fine brush, toothpick, sharpened piece of cardboard, or
equivalent using (no kidding) honey from the kitchen honey pot. I used
honey because it had the right consistency and it is water soluble ...
especially in warm water. The honey (now covered with paint, of
course) melted off leaving the lettering nice and clean. It came out
better than I could have hoped .. like new. Don K7FJ

Now we need a plan to recover the used honey. Also wonder if you have
been bothered by any bears?

With tongue in cheek!
