Please everyone, lighten up.
As far as contesting, I was just kidding. As far as the ARRL goes, if it
wasn't for the manufacturing advertising in their publications, that organization
would be as useless as #$%^&^% on a bullfrog. Face the facts, money talks,
and if the frequencies were totally quite, or filled with "contestors", either
way they don't stand too much of a chance if someone can prove they are
loosing a potential to make money, in not being allowed to use a
frequency/frequencies.
Now that statement I am not kidding.
Take your CC&R restrictions. Many absolutely restricted the use of any type
of sat. tv antenna. After a couple of years, and downsizing the direct tv
ant. and such, and these companies proved to the FCC, that they were losing
revenues due to these CC&R restrictions against any antenna whatsoever. Now in any
developement in the state of Md., you can now have the smaller sat. tv
antenna. That thanks to their attorneys, and an FCC generalization in aggreement of
lost revenues.
This stated from my good attorney friend J. Noble Daggett.
Still don't like the attitude of most contestors though. Got knocked off
frequency today in a matter of fact. When two of the parties I was in QSL with
told the contesting station that the frequency was occupied, there was no
response, nor attempt to acknowledge our occupancy of said frequency. Happens
everytime there is a major contest. Oh well to each his own I guess.
