The ARRL (www.arrl.net) has devoted a lot of website and magazine print
space to examining the potential threat of BPL to amateur radio's use of HF
frequencies. While their presentation could hardly be considered unbiased,
the League has presented quite a bit of anecdotal evidence to support the
notion that HF spectrum use would be seriously compromised in BPL-proximate
areas.

Of course, if the manufacturers of amateur radio equipment sense a profit
potential in developing "BPL filters", we have little to worry about -- as
long as they can be retrofiitted to boatanchors, that is.

Oh -- hello to Sandy, W5TVW! I see that his philosophies have change little
since the 1970's when I, along with old buddies K5JXH and K5MVP, visited his
suburban New Orleans shack (which resembled the Fair Radio Sales warehouse).
Sandy, a terrific character, helped me troubleshoot my late and lamented Ten
Tec Argonaut. It's good to see him here!
