The TMC GPR-92 isn't even remotely close to the SX-88 in circuitry and
conversion scheme - however, it may be somewhat rarer than the SX-88 because
as far as I know, fewer GPR-92's were made.
The GPR-92 was the last tube receiver TMC manufactured.
You can get more info on TMC equipment on the TMC mailing list on qth.net.
There is as web site dedicated to TMC, at

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SX-88/GPR92
Greetings to the list. It is many years since I have participated in this
list but I am happy to be back.
The reason for this post is that tomorrow I will receive a TMC GPR-92 radio.
This is even rarer than the SX-88 I think. Anyway I have reason to believe
that the GPR-92 may be a militarized version of the SX-88. I wonder if
anyone knows anything about this? Does anyone know where I can get an SX-88
schematic to compare? Fortunately the GPR-92 comes with a manual.
I am excited about this as one does not often get an opportunity to work on
such a rare bird. Unfortunately it does not belong to me but was discovered
recently by a friend.
Dave
