The SX-88 was made and designed by Hallicrafters. Technical Material
Corporation (TMC) designed and built the GPR-92. TMC was owned by Ray
DePasquale. Of course, Hallicrafters was owned by Bill Halligan, until
Northrup bought it in the mid 60s. The TMC receivers look a lot like
Hammarlund receivers. I understand the reason for this is TMC design
engineers came from Hammarlund. Both are double conversion receivers.

> The reason for this post is that tomorrow I will receive a TMC GPR-92
radio. This is even rarer than the SX-88 I think. Anyway I have reason to
believe that the GPR-92 may be a militarized version of the SX-88. I wonder
if anyone knows anything about this? Does anyone know where I can get an
SX-88 schematic to compare? Fortunately the GPR-92 comes with a manual.
> I am excited about this as one does not often get an opportunity to work
on such a rare bird. Unfortunately it does not belong to me but was
discovered recently by a friend.
