Hello Group,

Does anyone have a ''smart'' method of aligning the 50 kHz second IF on
those Dual Conversion Hallicrafters receivers, which converts down from the
first, 1650kHz , intermediate frequency --WITHOUT a 50kHz signal
generator----????

Most of the inexpensive signal-generators ( Heathkit,Eico,RCA etc ) only go
down to around 150 kHz.--I have used my cheap Audio generator, but that works
only very poorly.

Also----I hear a lot of ''birdies'',---- particularly at night----which seem
due to the fact that the 1st IF,1650 kHz,now falls into the AM Broadcast
Band. (something not anticipated in the 50's,when they designed those
radios )---what is the best way to minimize that problem.--

I have found a lot good help from the folks in this group and appreciate the
advice from the many of you ,who ''have been there and done that'',hi

Tnx de Olaf,---KF4TP,---
