This was the "stuck S-36A".

Spent the weekend tweaking the unit and everything is
working at about 98%. Tunning is a tad off, but not
significantly. 

For the antenna connector I ended up using a barrel
connector with the inside sleve bent in to make contac
with the pin. Since the barrel is a bit smaller in
diameter, I put some electrical tape around it take up
the wiggle and ran the ant. ground to the side of the
RF cabinet. This should hold for now till i get a
chance to monkey with a cleaner fix.
