[Hallicrafters] SX-71 S meter again

Have brought this beast back to where it sounds great. Replaced just about ever cap in the unit even in the if cans, plus several resistors and the s meter pot--still hangs at wherever you set it with the pot control. Any ideas on where I should go from here...HELP. (Meter is good-tested it #3 Sx-71) 2)- Is it just this radio, or are all of them this quiet till you come across a signal? Very pleased with its sound on AM and SW. Copies SSB too.  73 Joe
